Return of rental car

Because you have reserved a car with Adrem Car Rental, here is information about your reserved rental car. This information consists of 4 sections:

  1. Picking up your hire car
  2. Your hire car insurance
  3. Driving your hire car
  4. Returning your hire car (this article)

That's the normal thing to do when you rent a car. I can tell you many stories about people who saw it differently. I'll do that later. Promise!

Since you have booked a car with Adrem, this is the latest information: about returning the hire car.

Refuelling

When you rent a car, you get it filled up. Then it is also nice for the next renter that it is returned full again.

But what do you do when you have driven very few kilometres. You should always fill up with at least 5 litres, right? And surely no one notices if you don't refuel? There's more on that in this article: Why do I have to refuel a hire car?

Both we and the next renter therefore appreciate it if you return the rental car fully refuelled. If you really don't have the time (or don't feel like it), we can of course do it for you. In that case, refuelling costs will be added to the bill (plus the fuel costs themselves, of course).

If, after refuelling, you think: "that's a lot of litres for what I've driven", feel free to tell us! We will then calculate whether you filled up too much fuel. If so, we will refund you the excess amount. Fair is fair!

Cleaning costs

We assume you use the hire car normally, just like your own car. Sometimes we get back a hire car that has clearly not been used ‘normally'. Dirty stains on the upholstery, smells, the strangest objects still in the boot, and I could go on....

In special, dirty, strange and weird cases, we will therefore charge cleaning fees. But rest assured: we only do so in special cases.

Smoking is forbidden in our rental cars. If you smoke, it's better to do so in a car park. The next renter will be happy to take back a fresh car. If we notice smoking in the car, we will charge EUR 40 excluding VAT for this.

Submit

At all our branches, passenger cars can be returned 24 hours a day, even outside our opening hours. Park the car near our office, remove all your belongings from the car and lock it. You can put the key in a special key safe. How it works, we will explain when you come to collect the car.

If you return the car outside our opening hours, we will check it at the first time when we are open again. The invoice will be sent to you by email (if we have your email address).
